How does ones site have to be named or configured so that it opens up to the front page when you type www.mysite.com, not www.mysite.com/index.html or www.mysite.com/home.html? I’m using GoDaddy…
Thank you in advance!

I have created a website for my literary pieces and I want to protect them from theft of others with copyright. Do I have to pay $45 per piece of literature to be protected?

one that is really just for literature, and newsletter signups, non-profit in nature, is it necessary to get these two types of protection from GoDaddy.com?
“Expiration Protection –
Protects your domain against loss due to credit card expiration or failure, outdated contact information and more.”
and
“Deadbolt Transfer Protection
Protects your domain against any accidental or malicious transfer.”]
These two options are only available with their Protected Registration for domains, at $25.00 extra, a year.

I have 5 hosting credits. I’m too cheap to make the long-distance tech-support call to find out what a hosting credit is.
Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

I am completely new to this domain thing. its something I been looking into for years now. there are so many options to chose from when I am signing up. I just want a cheap page where I can upload music and pictures etc, of my artists that I manage. I dont need 10 pages or 350 gigs of memory, just something functional. I know html and photoshop so i plan to design it on my own. can some one please lend some experienced guidance.

If you do a “WHOIS” and the status says it’s on redemption period, only the last registered name holder can “redeem” it with the last sponsoring registrar (Go Daddy based on what you stated). Even if you “pretend” to represent the registrant, Go Daddy will still redeem and put it on its last registration account and not in another.
Next best thing is to make a reservation with various backorder companies like Snapnames, Pool, and Enom Club Drop. They have the best batting averages for .com.
