in your godaddy admin panel, for your domain you should be able to set the “Nameservers”.
From your hostgator hosting, they should tell you what your nameservers are. It will be something like NS1.NAMESERVER.COM. You will have two nameservers. Go into the godaddy page and put these name servers to replace the ones with godaddy.
Godaddy i think is like PARK##.SECURESERVER.NET
Once you replace that the domain will look for your hosting at HostGator.

I have a couple of questions about godaddy’s cash parking. I want to buy a domain name from godaddy, allow it to park the domain and sell it after some time(just to get an idea of the domain business). I know this depends on the strategically selected name. However Im slightly skeptical about it. Is it a foolproof process?? Has anyone just bought a site, listed and sold it off and made lot of money? Any details on this process would be very useful. Thanks

Different e-commerce sites have tie-ups with different payment gateways or payment service providers.Checking on their web-site itself for what they support and what they don’tis the best option. Follow the payment links and you will know…you are not giving the money right now anyways. .are you ?

I just want to know what would happen if i bought a certain domain name from godaddy.com without choosing one of their web hosting plans. I want to do this to save money but will it still work? Can I host it from my home computer with a basic internet connection? are there any safety concerns associated with this?

You first purchase a hosting contract from whichever host you want to use. The hosting company will tell you what the DNS servers are for your use.
Then you go to the Domain Registrar, log into your domain, and enter the DNS servers in the DNS fields.
It takes 48 hours for DNS servers world wide to upgrade.

I want a decent service with a reasonable price. I am thinking of GOOGLE since it is a reputed company and I am kind a sure that their services will be better if we buy from them directly unlike buying it from partners like godaddy. Please suggest!!
