in your godaddy admin panel, for your domain you should be able to set the “Nameservers”.
From your hostgator hosting, they should tell you what your nameservers are. It will be something like NS1.NAMESERVER.COM. You will have two nameservers. Go into the godaddy page and put these name servers to replace the ones with godaddy.
Godaddy i think is like PARK##.SECURESERVER.NET
Once you replace that the domain will look for your hosting at HostGator.

Don’t trust dishonest claims like “Best web hosting only $1 /month” or “Get the cheapest web hosting without sacrificing quality and features!!”. Take into consideration that some hosting companies are cheating and lying to their customers. It is very important that your service be uptime (functioning and available for use) . It means you can access your account whenever you want to update your web pages, and users can enter your website whenever they refer to your site address. If your hosting service is not uptime it can be catastrophic!
If your website is not a business site (is personal), you can refer to this cheap, reliable service:http://www.goldpuma.com
As an experienced web master, I’m sure GoldPuma would work for you and fulfill all your requirements. They have a really great offer for hosting & I have used them for over 3 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them.
Hope this helps.

I backordered a domain at godaddy.com but when i did a whois search, it tells me it is “Registered through: GoDaddy.com, Inc. (http://www.godaddy.com)”
does this mean i can order the domain from them directly or do i have to wait a year for it to drop onto the domain list?

I am completely new to this domain thing. its something I been looking into for years now. there are so many options to chose from when I am signing up. I just want a cheap page where I can upload music and pictures etc, of my artists that I manage. I dont need 10 pages or 350 gigs of memory, just something functional. I know html and photoshop so i plan to design it on my own. can some one please lend some experienced guidance.
